We acknowledge that we are situated on the unceded and traditional territories of the Indigenous Peoples of British Columbia. This province is home to diverse Nations, each with their own unique cultures, languages, and traditions. From the Coast Salish Peoples of the Lower Mainland and the Nuu-chah-nulth of Vancouver Island, to the Gitxsan and Wet’suwet’en of the northern regions, and many others, their enduring connection to this land precedes and continues beyond the boundaries of colonial development.
We recognize the profound relationship that Indigenous communities have with this land, and the ongoing impact of colonization on their rights, culture, and well-being. We honor their resilience, contributions, and the rich heritage they bring to our shared spaces.
In the spirit of reconciliation and respect, we commit to learning about and supporting Indigenous rights and sovereignty. We invite all individuals and organizations to join us in recognizing this truth and working towards a future that respects and uplifts the voices and rights of Indigenous Peoples in British Columbia.
