of achievement, both academically and personally, among black educators and students in British Columbia.
Empowerment: BCBELA is committed to empowering black educators, students, and the wider
community. They work to provide resources, support, and opportunities that help individuals reach their
full potential and succeed in their educational pursuits.
Joy: BCBELA recognizes the importance of joy and positivity in the learning environment. They aim to
create a supportive and uplifting atmosphere that fosters a love for learning and personal growth
Belonging: BCBELA values a sense of belonging and inclusion within the educational system. They strive
to ensure that black students and educators feel welcomed, respected, and represented in the schools
and institutions they are part of.

Service: BCBELA is dedicated to serving the needs of black educators and students in the community. We
will actively engage in advocacy, mentorship, and other forms of support to promote educational equity
and positive change.
